Players who are league age 8- 10 are eligible to be selected to a Minor League Division team (Double A or Triple A) for the regular season. The local league board of directors may decide the age-cutoffs within this age grouping.
This division is “kid pitch.” In this division the players pitch to the opposing team. This division is for
primarily 8–10-year-olds. 7-Year-olds are eligible for this division if they have played more 2+ years of
baseball and have shown sufficient knowledge of the game at tryouts. Tryouts are held at this division
and teams are formed through a draft process. Any players not drafted will be placed back in the coach
pitch division.
Players pitch and all players in the lineup bat. The standard nine defensive positions are used, and
scores and standings are kept. Trained umpires enforce the rules and regulations of Little League
Baseball. Players are taught advanced fundamentals of baseball such that they are exposed to pitching
techniques, playing positions, defensive pre pitch preparedness, live batting, and more aggressive base
running. A postseason tournament in which all teams in the division participate will determine the
champion for the division. Any 7-year-old interested in playing in the Minor division must attend tryouts.
